Australia, April 30, 2014 -- Burlesque star Lola The
Vamp is already renowned or pushing boundaries - her PhD in burlesque
was the first to feature actual performance of the risqué art. But just
wait until you hear her debut single with Brisbane band, Desert Blues
Cartel! It's a song reminiscent of both Nick Cave's murder ballad duets
and the infamous recordings between Serge Gainsborough and Brigitte
Bardot. In this fine tradition, Lola duets - entirely in French - with
the masterful vocals of Robert Davis for an epic and sweeping orchestral
ballad.
Ma Cherie is a collaboration with Desert Blues Cartel, whose sensual style has seen them travel Australia during their debut year in 2013. Like stumbling drunkenly into Wiemar Berlin, the Desert Blues Cartel transport you to a world of overt aural decadence, described by Time Off as 'oozing with swagger and style'. The duet was composed at the picturesque Shorncliffe Pier, a vintage seaside town just north of Brisbane, Australia.
It's available for a short time as a free download at www.desertbluescartel.com.
You can see Lola sing and dance at the official launch from 6.30pm,
Friday May 16th at Sandgate Town Hall, Brisbane, Australia. The launch
is proudly presented at the very first of the Cardigan Bar Town Hall
Sessions.
