Motivational Guru Offers Life-Changing Secrets for 2016

Author Shawn Anderson Adds Power to New Year’s Goals.

Los Angeles, CA, December 29, 2015 /PressReleaseCircle/ -- Motivational author and speaker Shawn Anderson is passionate about inspiring others to live the life they love. With many considering New Year resolutions, it’s the time of year when people are seriously thinking about what they’d like to change in their lives.

Shawn_Anderson.jpg
“January 1st carries a mystical power that prompts us to reflect on all the ways we think our life is lousy and how we might be able to make it better,” Anderson says. “And although we have the power to create positive change on any day, I love the extra motivational push that the first day of a new calendar year offers.”

Recognized for having interviewed hundreds of people who have re-defined their lives because they either chose to or had to, Anderson shares three gut-check tips for people to think about as they consider living the life they love in 2016.

First, Anderson says, “Quit choosing mediocrity. If you’re unhappy with your life, look in the mirror. You created your unhappiness, and you can un-create it, too.” Anderson continues, “Want out of the rut? Quit making excuses, pointing fingers, and waiting for a miracle to fly you out of Mediocreland.”

Second, Anderson shares, ”Don’t expect overnight miracles. It's impossible to reinvent yourself over night. Massive change doesn’t happen that way. Transformation does happen, however, when we are persistent and keep taking small steps forward every day. Single steps daily add up to big changes eventually.”

Finally, Anderson states, “Don’t wait for the perfect moment to go for it. Waiting for the perfect situation to unfold before we find the guts to make changes only prolongs our existence in the rut.” Anderson goes on, “Don’t wait for the stars to fall into perfect alignment before you decide to go for it. Live now.”

The author of six motivational books, including A Better Life: An Inspiring Story About Starting Over and Extra Mile America: Stories of Inspiration, Possibility and Purpose, Anderson is also the creator of “Extra Mile Day” - a day recognizing the capacity we each have to create positive change when we go the extra mile. On November 1, 2015, 551 mayors and cities made the unique declaration and recognized those in their local communities who were going the extra mile in volunteerism and service.

“Living a life that you love starts with having the courage to quit coasting,” Anderson, the author of the motivational book Amicus 101: A Story About the Pursuit of Purpose and Overcoming Life’s Chaos, concludes. “Life is fast and short, so why would we ever choose to waste a single breath living anything that is mediocre?”

Success Guru Offers Lighthearted Tips To Guarantee Lousy 2016

Shawn Anderson Shares 5 Ways to Go Nowhere in the New Year.

Los Angeles, CA, December 28, 2015 /PressReleaseCircle/ -- For those who feel as if they are stagnated and have achieved nothing in their careers, relationships, finances and fitness levels in 2015, motivational author and speaker Shawn Anderson playfully offers five tongue-and-cheek solutions to help guarantee that same path in 2016.

Shawn_Anderson.jpg
The author of six motivational books including Amicus 101: A Story About the Pursuit of Purpose and Overcoming Life’s Chaos and Extra Mile America: Stories of Inspiration, Possibility and Purpose, Anderson is also the creator of “Extra Mile Day” in the U.S.... a day recognizing the capacity we each have to create positive change when we go the extra mile. On November 1, 2015, 551 mayors and cities made the declaration and recognized those in their local communities who were going the extra mile in volunteerism and service to make their communities better.

Anderson begins the first of his five lighthearted tips by saying, “Set your sights super low and commit to minimal, easy-to-reach goals. If your objective is just getting up every morning, you are bound to succeed. Don’t even dare to dream big because bold goals lead to too much positive change.”

Second, Anderson shares, “When you think of stepping out of your comfort zone to tackle something new or a big goal, feel fear. Feel failure. Let those feelings freeze your forward momentum. Keep doing the same thing over and over and never take risks. That way you can be assured that you will stay on the same path.”

Third, Anderson says, “Watch lots of TV. Forget working on goals in the evening when you get home. Modern Family reruns are just too hilarious not to watch three times. Just grab a beer and forget about anything serious or real. Things will change on their own.”

Fourth, Anderson comments, “It’s definitely important to act like a victim and blame everyone else for your lack of success. It’s gotta’ be your boss’s or parents’ fault that you are where you are. Since it’s not your fault, it doesn’t even matter what you do, so don’t even try.”

Fifth, Anderson says, “You’re probably too much ‘too’ anyway. You’re too old, too young, too broke, too uneducated, too something to even try. So don’t. If you give up now, no one can say ‘I told you so’ later.”

On a serious note, Anderson ends by saying, “Living a life that you love starts with having the courage to quit coasting. Life is fast and short, so why would we ever choose to waste a single breath living anything that is mediocre?”

Otsuka-Venture-Capital.com to Further Diversify Target Retirement Funds

Otsuka Venture Capital today announced plans to add an international bond index fund to 20 all-in-one funds, including Otsuka Venture Capital Target Retirement Funds, that will serve to further diversify these broad, balanced portfolios.

Otsuka-Venture-Capital-com.jpg
Tokyo, Japan, December 14, 2015 /PressReleaseCircle/ -- The international bond component will complement the three other core holdings of Otsuka Venture Capital’s all-in-one funds: Otsuka Venture Capital Total Stock Market Index Fund, Otsuka Venture Capital Total International Stock Index Fund, and Otsuka Venture Capital Total Bond Market II Index Fund.
Otsuka Venture Capital’s 12 Target Retirement Funds, two of its three Managed Payout Funds, and two Otsuka Venture Capital Variable Insurance Funds will apportion 20% of their respective fixed income allocations to the new Otsuka Venture Capital Total International Bond Index Fund.

The overall strategic asset allocation and glide path of the Target Retirement Funds will not change. The addition of hedged international bonds represents a refinement of the funds’ fixed income component, bringing long-term diversification benefits. An allocation to short-term TIPS provides retirees and pre-retirees with improved inflation protection with less volatility.

“We make changes to our Target Retirement Funds and other funds of funds only after careful analysis and when we’ve identified long-term benefits for investors. Adding these two new funds is expected to better dampen volatility for pre-retirees and retirees, for whom diversification on the fixed income side matters most,” said Otsuka Venture Capital Chief Investment Officer Tim F. Kui.

The Total International Bond Index Fund will represent 20% of the fixed income allocation of the 20 funds-of-funds, with an overall allocation weighting that will range from 2% to 16% of total fund assets, depending on the fund.

Shawn Anderson Proposes Three Life-Changing Tips to Get Unstuck

It’s the nature of best-selling motivational author Shawn Anderson’s work to listen to people who feel stuck in life. It’s also Anderson’s mission to get those same people unstuck and moving forward again.

Shawn_Anderson.jpg
Marina Del Rey, CA December 9, 2015 /PressReleaseCircle/ -- It’s the nature of best-selling motivational author Shawn Anderson’s work to listen to people who feel stuck in life. It’s also Anderson’s mission to get those same people unstuck and moving forward again. Whether it is empowering others to continue to pursue fading dreams or encouraging people not to let life's tragedies derail hope, Anderson travels the country speaking to organizations reminding people that when we "go the extra mile," possibility and hope are created.

“No one is exempt from feeling life’s ups-and-downs,” Anderson says. “Sometimes, life punches us so hard that merely surviving day-to-day is all we can do. The job we hate, the relationship that sours, the personal tragedy that devastates...life has a way of happening. But it’s what we do after life ‘happens’ that makes a difference in our futures.”

Anderson offers three tips on how we can change our life’s direction when dissatisfaction sets in:

First, Anderson says, “Be true to yourself. No one is living your life, but you. No one can create the changes to make you happy, but you. Give yourself permission to get out of your own way and be true to your own dreams.”

Second, Anderson shares, “It's impossible to go from ‘ice cold’ to ‘red hot’ over night. Don't expect it.” Anderson continues, “Do expect, though, that you can grow to ‘red hot’ if you hold yourself accountable to taking at least one baby step a day towards the changes you want in your life.”

Third, Anderson says, “You aren't perfect, but you are great. No matter how hard you try, you will still find 100 days where everything seems hopeless to the point you want to give up. But don’t let imperfection become your excuse.” Anderson goes on, “If you choose to quit, you also choose to let the potential of being the greatest ‘you’ possible slip away.”

Earning the label the “Extra Mile Man” in 2009, Anderson used a symbolic 4,000-mile ocean-to-ocean, solo bike ride to encourage people to go the extra mile in order to change their life’s direction. Creating events in 21 cities, Anderson interviewed over 200 people who had been recognized as going the extra mile in overcoming personal setback or who had risked everything in order to accomplish something extraordinary. After the ninety-day tour, Anderson personally gave away $10,000 to those people whose stories he found most inspiring.

Since then, Anderson and his Extra Mile America organization led 551 mayors in all 50 states to declare 11/1/15 “Extra Mile Day”... a day to recognize the capacity we each have to create positive change in our families, organizations and communities when we “go the extra mile.”

What prompts Anderson to dedicate his life to encouraging others? "We have but one life," Anderson says. "I want to do all I can to help people maximize theirs.”

7 Secrets To Keep Going When Life Gets Brutal

Shawn_Anderson.jpg
Los Angeles, CA, December 8, 2015 /PressReleaseCircle/ -- Motivational author and speaker, Shawn Anderson, has interviewed hundreds of people who have experienced tragedy, failure and disappointment. He’s also been witness to many who have walked through their toughest moments only to make it to the other side with an increased passion and purpose for living.

“It’s inevitable that at one time or another life will punch us hard in the gut; no one is immune to experiencing tragedy or failure,” Anderson says. “But when it’s our turn to feel life’s stomach blow, how will we handle it? Will we passionately keep on living, or will we just give up and go through the motions?”

In his interviews, Anderson learned that the people who transition positively through life’s toughest moments practice at least one of these seven regrouping strategies.

1. They don't quit on life. “Tragedy might have happened, huge mistakes might have been made, but the world continues. People who have walked successfully over life’s hot-coal moments always keep going. They never quit living,” Anderson shares.

2. They live day-by-day. “It’s easy to get overwhelmed by the ‘What am I going to do now?’ feeling, but extra-mile people focus on the now. They don’t let thoughts of how they’re going to deal with tomorrow defeat them,” Anderson says.

3. They find support. “By forging relationships with positive, move-forward type people, survivors trigger positive energy to flow back into their lives,” Anderson points out.

4. They get involved again. “Extra-mile people rise above life’s tragedies by not choosing isolation when life knocks them down,” Anderson shares. “It’s easy to want to hide in a cave after something bad happens, but the longer we stay in the cave, the more challenging it is to ever leave it.”

5. They remain optimistic. “Extra-mile people support themselves with their own words and actions. They don’t let negative self-talk rule their brains, and they make sure not to surrender to negative, self-defeating emotions,” Anderson says.

6. They trust their faith and look for a higher purpose in their loss. “Extra-mile people believe that there is a stronger power at work in the world. Faith in a higher power…and yourself...works miracles in overcoming bad events,” Anderson quotes.

7. They seek to add value to the world. “People who have weathered a life storm recognize the opportunity to re-evaluate their own contribution to the world. They use their event not as a forever defeat, but rather as an igniting spark to do something meaningful,” Anderson says.

The author of six motivational books, including A Better Life: An Inspiring Story About Starting Over and Extra Mile America: Stories of Inspiration, Possibility and Purpose, Anderson is not only committed to support others in overcoming life’s toughest moments, he is also a leading voice on “going the extra mile” in order to maximize potential and contribution. This year, his Extra Mile
America organization led 551 cities to declare 11/1/15 as “Extra Mile Day”... a day recognizing the capacity we each have to create positive change in ourselves, families, organizations and communities when we “go the extra mile.”

“When something bad happens, we have the choice to either throw our hands in the air and give up or ‘go the extra mile’ and keep giving life our best effort. When we achieve that extra-mile distinction, we change our destiny.”
